I will be putting information about the morphology classification here.
So far, only Bianca has classified all the galaxies. However, I am putting a preliminary analysis here to start having an idea of how its going, while we all finish classifying…
Below, you can find a few relevant numbers and plots.
A2192
In numbers:
A total of 1269 galaxies were classified
From those, only 377 have redhshifts (I call this the “z-sample”)
99 (26%) in the z-sample had no-redshift (z=99.99)
74 (20%) in the z-sample had no-morphology (mor = 5 or 6)
41 (11%) in the z-sample had no-redshift and no-morphology
79 (21%) in the z-sample were early-type galaxies (mor = 1 or 2)
221 (59%)in the z-sample were late-type galaxies (mor = 3 or 4)
In Figures:
1. Distribution of all morphologies (1=E, 2=S0, 3=S, 4=Irr, 5=Unclassifiable, 6=Nothing):
2. A CMD with early-types (red) and late types (blue) inside the most prominent z-peak of A2192 (z-limits chosen by eye):
3. A couple of 3D plot of the distrubution (ra-dec-z) of the targeted galaxies pus those that had literature-z in A2192
The 2 plots are the same thing, just different views!
Red = early-type galaxies (E + S0)
Blue = late-type galaxies (S + Irr)
