Wide-field Global VLBI Observations of a close Pair

The image shown below was produced by the EVN+VLBA (6cm) using wide-field techniques to avoid time and bandwidth smearing. The sources were detected as apart of a phase-referencing snapshot survey (see the corresponding FIRST page for further information. The two sources are separated by about 1 arcmin on the sky. In principle, wide-field VLBI imaging can provide direct and accurate measurements of the sources relative positions.
