Preliminary WSRT Observations of the Hubble Deep Field and
Flanking Fields
The WSRT images shown below are centred on the Hubble Deep Field. These
image were made from 6 x 12 hour runs using the new MFFEs at 1380
MHz. The rms noise limit is ~ 8 microJy/beam (around the confusion
limit) and the resolution ca. 15 arcseconds. The WSRT contour map has
been overlayed upon the HST images.
An image of the full Hubble Deep Field and adjacent Flanking Fields.
With a brightness sensitivity about 100 times better than the VLA
observations, the WSRT detects a siginficant number of new radio
sources in the HDF and HFFs.
