JIVE Correlator Control Software:
Welcome to the homepage of the JIVE Software Group. This group
originally was located at
Jodrell Bank. There the software
was developed to provide the overall control of the new EVN/Mk4 data
processor to be installed at
JIVE in the Netherlands. After
the official opening of the
JIVE Correlator in 1998
the group moved to JIVE and continued the development and maintenance
of the JCCS (JIVE Correlator Control Software).
All relevant documentation on the JCCS should be available via
this page.
What is available:
- JIVE Processor CCC Software is
an old summary of the JCCS system; but it still is a good
introduction.
- JCCS Plus is an overview of the
software currently used for data processing at JIVE.
- The
public EVN Document Series is quite old and only a few documents
are still relevant to the current JCCS system, especially #42 about
the "EVN Correlator Message Formats".
- Parallel Correlator Control Systems is a
design document describing how to maintain and run parallel versions
of JCCS. A short section has been added to highlight the differences
between design (1999) and current practice (2009).
- JCCS modules lists the modules in the
code repository from which the executable systems are built, and
points to further documentation on these modules.
- Software Design Notes are internal
notes written by the Jodrell Bank Team in the years 1995-1999, but
most descriptions still apply to the relevant JCCS modules.
- Software User Notes are internal
notes written by the Jodrell Bank Team in the years 1995-2000, and
some may help understand the use of JCCS modules covered.
- Software Implementation Notes are
internal notes written by the JIVE developers in the years
2006-2009, and describe extensions to the original JCCS system.
- Software Bug Notes were maybe a good idea,
but only one has been written (in 2006)..emacs
- RT Software Notes is a ragbag with
sketchy notes about using Albert's RT programs.
